Years of Experience: I have been in long-term care for 18 years, serving as Dietary Manager for 14 years prior to devoting my time to Social Services for the past 4 years.
What has ‘empowered’ you to become a social worker?: I enjoy building trusting relationships with my residents and their families.
As we celebrate Social Work Month, what message or advice would you like to share with the community about the importance of social work in long-term care?: Social work in long-term care is not for the weak. It is important to advocate and be their support and voice when the needs arise. I am my resident’s biggest fan and will always be there to guide them along their journey!
